Developmental Editing

For authors who feel stuck or need an outside perspective on a manuscript, I offer a big-picture evaluation, focusing on central concepts, logic, arguments and supporting evidence, organization, and flow. I provide feedback in the form of an editorial letter detailing strengths and concrete suggestions for improvement, notes inserted in the manuscript, or some combination of the two.

Copy Editing

I provide line-by-line editing of the text to remedy problems with grammar, spelling, punctuation, and adherence to style guidelines. In addition, I edit for clarity, coherency, and transitions between and within paragraphs. I rework awkward phrasing, eliminate redundancies, and ensure consistency. I also insert effective and targeted comments and queries to point the author toward a more polished paper.

Proofreading

For projects at the final stage before publication, I offer proofreading to point out any inconsistencies, spelling errors, punctuation problems, and typographical issues.
